Julie brought her daughter Kat to the studio to have her senior portraits created. She wanted to commemorate her daughter's last year attending Mukwonago High School with beautiful artistic portraits. She saw a concept session that we had done with another student at Mukwonago High School and loved what she saw and knew that we were the right team to get portraits for her daughter.
When Kat and I talked about what she was looking for from her session, she mentioned that she wanted to have her portraits done in an urban location and to also be in a field of sunflowers. Her session was during the peak of the sunflower season, so we could easily incorporate that into her special day. We also used an empty alleyway, a couple of historic buildings with beautiful gardens and a small part of the shore in Lake Geneva, WI as our setting for her urban portrait session.
We found beautiful ivy-covered brick walls, a doorway that happened to be the same color as her eyes, sun glinting on a chain-linked fence, and of course, a beautiful sunset. Lake Geneva is truly a treasure trove of beautiful backdrops for photography.
We were having so much fun, but we finally had to stop taking photos because the sun disappeared and a storm was rolling in.
On the day of their photo reveal and ordering session, Kat's mom and dad were so thrilled with how lovely her portraits turned out that they couldn't decide to part with any of them and took an album with every image in it. I am thrilled that they loved them all, and are able to have that keepsake to look at once Kat is grown and moved away. These little treasures are an important part of raising children... because one day, you're going to miss their sweet face. This is why I love being able to provide heirloom quality printed artwork.
Here are a few of Kat's favorites from her senior portrait session.
